Play to Resist: Skateistan's newest campaign

This month we celebrate our program leaders and participants around the world who have continued to push through difficult circumstances and persist in times of instability. Across Afghanistan, Palestine, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, South Sudan, Pakistan, and Syria, children are growing up surrounded by conflict, genocide and displacement.

As a consequence, safe spaces for play and self-expression are becoming increasingly limited, while communities face heightened levels of stress and anxiety. Through skateboarding and creative education, Skateistan is supporting grassroots projects that provide safe spaces for young people to reconnect with a sense of freedom and belonging. In places where war interrupts childhood, play is vital, as it helps children to process emotions and rebuild confidence.
