2025 asked a lot of us.

Funding became harder to secure, rights were challenged, communities around the world faced growing uncertainty. But if there's one thing we've learned over nearly two decades, it's that progress isn't built by standing still - it's built by showing up, adapting, and continuing to push forward together.

Our 2025 Annual Report tells the story of what that looked like across the Skateistan network. From welcoming new partners and strengthening regional collaboration to expanding access to skateboarding and education for thousands of young people, it's a reminder that meaningful change happens through collective action.

Thanks to our partners, supporters, donors, and community, we continued building safer, more inclusive spaces where children and youth can learn, lead, and belong.

Together, we're continuing to push this movement forward, and here are some of the highlights from 2025.

2025 in a Nutshell:

• 11,977 individual program participants (53% girls, women and non-binary)
• 403,273 program attendances (56% girls, women and non-binary)
• 277 practitioners trained (62% women and non-binary)
• 118,778 indirect participants reached
• 69 locations across 41 countries‍

In January 2025, we welcomed 9 new Program Partners. These organizations joined our 14 existing Partners, standing in unity with our Goodpush-supported programs. The new partners were from Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iraqi Kurdistan, Kenya, Mexico, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, and Uganda.

2025 Programs highlights

Partners Regional Collaboration

For the first time, we facilitated and piloted a locally-led collaboration between program partners located in the same region. The experience took place in Iraqi Kurdistan, where our long-term partner ArtPlus visited a new partner in Duhok, The Lotus Flower, organizing an intensive one-week training for coaches. The exchange made it possible for The Lotus Flower to launch their new program, the Skating Sisters, in the Rwanga Camp. Based on the successful collaboration and feedback from our partners, we plan to facilitate more of these types of regional interactions!

Non-Profit School in Afghanistan

A new fully recognized nonprofit school, Bam Donya, was established in Western Kabul to ensure continued and sustainable formal education for students in Afghanistan - in particular girls. The school, which runs classes from grades 1 to 6, started operating in April and is replete with activities, parents meetings, exams, and teacher training.
