Sihanoukville is a popular beach destination on the southern coast of Cambodia. Tourism and port activities here attract economic migrants seeking employment and better living conditions in the area, increasing the urban population. The result is the expansion of slums and increased numbers of street-working children and youth.

In October 2015 Skateistan began activities in Sihanoukville with funding from the Starkey Hearing Foundation. Staff from the Phnom Penh Skate School have been training new staff and volunteers from Sihanoukville. Together they have been providing skateboarding and arts-based education programs in various locations, five days per week. Through its main partnership with the local organization M’lop Tapang, we are able to provide programs to children with addictions, street-working children and children living with disabilities.
