Safety Gear and Board Donations Arrive!

A huge thanks to Technical Safety Gear (TSG) for the much-needed boxes of new helmets, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards that we received last week. As you might imagine, shipping to a country disrupted by conflict such as Afghanistan is not as easy as popping it in the post.

With a lack of proper infrastructure and mass disorganization, anytime we actually get boxes of goods into our hands is quite monumental. Yesterday morning the international volunteers Ty, Erika and Patrick got the chance to unpack it all and were stoked to find safety equipment in small sizes for our younger students, as well as 50 new helmets and some other goodies. We also received a generous donation of several dozen new skateboards from Boardmag.de, an online magazine based in Germany. With Go Skateboarding Day just a week away it's nice to have some boards and stickers we can give away as prizes in the competition, as well as enough safety gear for all the kids that come out. Hopefully we'll have a system in place soon for getting our stuff over here from US-based Blackbox distribution and Theeve Trucks!
