CPH 2011 Mega-Fun Fundraiser, Don't Miss It
Since 2009 Skateistan Denmark has hosted an annual fundraiser in Copenhagen to support Skateistan in Kabul. This year is no different, and a lot of new, exciting stuff has been added to the program. The two day event will be this weekend: Saturday, May 14th and Sunday, May 15th. The lineup includes DJs and live bands, clothing stalls, art exhibitions, food and drinks, and a skate contests. Both longtime and new Skateistan supporters can check out the Skateistan photo exhibition with facts on the history and happenings of Afghanistan's first skate school. There will definitely be something for everyone.
Last year's event raised around 40,000 USD for Skateistan's activities in Kabul, and was one of our most successful fundraisers worldwide so far. This year the goal is to break that record and show just how committed Skateistan's fans in Denmark are to giving the kids in Kabul access to something special.
In conjunction with the weekend's activities there will also be an exhibition and online auction (on Lauritz.com) of skateboards painted by prominent artists such as David Shrigley, Kasper Eistrup, and Shepard Fairey (OBEY).
Skateistan Denmark's website promises the fundraiser is "All in all, a lot more of everything, and as always all proceeds go to Skateistan, so come and have a fantastic time, and at the same time, support a good cause. Party with a purpose – see you at Skateistan Fundraiser CPH 2011!"
