Vacancies
All vacancies with Skateistan are volunteer positions (unless otherwise stated) and hourly requirements will differ from one position to another. Working with Skateistan is a challenging, fast-paced, unique and rewarding experience, where every team member has the potential to have an impact within one of the most innovative development organizations in the world.
Anyone can be a Skateistan supporter, whether you are five-year-old holding a lemonade fundraiser or a 105-year-old with excellent web skills to contribute. Finance Officer (International Position - Paid)
Skateistan is in the process of establishing its Headquarter (HQ) in Germany and needs an experienced Finance Officer to set up the new finance function at HQ. We are looking for a qualified financial accountant (ACA or ACCA) with at least three years audit and accountancy experience. Familiarity with Peachtree Accounting Software as well as the NGO sector is mandatory. Development Intern (Internship - Berlin)
Skateistan is in the process of establishing its Headquarter (HQ) in Germany and is looking for applicants experienced in NGO/Non-Profit operations to join the Skateistan team. We need people experienced in fundraising, grant writing, and donor development/management. Would be ideal for a college graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in the NGO/Non-Profit field. Internship would be based from our HQ in Berlin and would be a minimum of 6 months. We need people experienced in legal research, legal writing, contracts, report/proposal writing, and NGO/Non-Profit operations. We need people who are all-around media savvy and experienced in videography, photography, social media platforms, video editing, Adobe Creative Suite programs, and blogging. The applicant can expect to gain a great deal of hands-on experience and become an important part of the Skateistan media team. Web Developer (International Position)
Skateistan is in the process of updating its website and online communications and needs experienced web developers to join the Skateistan web team. We need people with good HTML/CSS and PHP coding skills. Experience with the Drupal content management system would be especially valued. Kabul-Based Volunteer Instructors
With an ever-growing student population and plans to hold additional classes Skateistan is currently welcoming applications from Kabul-based individuals who would like to volunteer as either classroom or skate session instructors. Time commitment is for one or two hours each week (either morning or afternoon is possible). Afghans with English skills and Internationals with Dari language skills are particularly valuable at Skateistan, as well as experienced skateboarders. Volunteer From Your Home Country
Although Skateistan is an Afghan NGO based in Kabul, we also have an international network of groups in other countries supporting our project. Skateistan has over 250 volunteers in 13 countries assisting the program in Afghanistan. They are part of organizations ranging from associations to non-profit corporations, and oversee Skateistan’s fundraising efforts and promotion within a given country. Last year over 200,000 USD was raised by volunteers. Useful skill areas include website assistance, administration, legal, accounting and donor management.
