Last year Skateistan proudly announced that our valued Afghan teacher Hamdullah Hamdard (17) was among the winners of a UNESCO-sponsored drawing contest. The topic for this contest was: "How does boys' and girls' equality in education help us all?"
Just recently, the long-awaited prize package arrived at our Kabul headquarter, and it left everyone in awe: Hamdullah's drawings are now being featured in the United Nation's Asia-Pacific "UNGEI" calender, which aims to raise awareness of regional issues and gender equality in education. On top of that, he was given the UNGEI Certificate of Merit for his winning contributions. Congratulations, Hamdullah!
